Hard Candy Now Available at Walmart

Does anyone here remember Hard Candy? I do. They made some of the most beautiful and creative nail polishes, eyeliners and eye shadows and was THE make up to have when I was a teen in the 90’s. Oh, how I wanted to own every pot of loose glitter they ever sold, but alas it was completely out of my teenage price range. I treasured every item I was able to afford and never let anyone borrow my precious glitters.

Then, all of a sudden Hard Candy was gone! I couldn’t find it anywhere and my black and silver glitter pencil was down to a nub. Heartbroken, I began the search for a new glitter pencil and you know what, I never did find a better one. Eventually, I forgot all about Hard Candy and all of the wonderful things they made.

I was floored last weekend when I came across an ad for Walmart introducing all kinds of new Hard Candy cosmetics on the front page. For all of you who don’t know, there are very few Walmart’s in the Los Angeles area so I don’t get to them often. Up until a few months ago, on a recent trip to Arizona (not even in my own state!), I hadn’t stepped foot in a Walmart in years so I’m a little behind the times on this one. Hard Candy has been available exclusively at Walmart since September.

So I did a little sleuthing on the Walmart website and the prices and selection are amazing, the packaging is cute and looks almost exactly like Urban Decay. (I know that Urban Decay once owned Hard Candy so this makes sense) There are nail polishes in every color of the rainbow, including Hard Candy classics Teal and Yellow, primary color eyeliner pencils, metallic mascaras and woohoo, they have brought back my favorite glitter eye pencil. The prices range from $6.00 to $20.00. I had to physically restrain myself from buying everything on the website. It wasn’t pretty.

So until I can get myself to my nearest Walmart (which in L.A. is an adventure in itself) I’m asking you dear readers, to let me know how you like the new Hard Candy line. Do you remember Hard Candy? Have you tried the new line? How do they compare?
