jodie-sweetin-2Being a child star can mess you up…think about Tracey Gold, Kirk Cameron…and even Drew Barrymore had a rough patch before figuring things out. Jodie Sweetin, who played middle child Stephanie on the painfully saccharine Full House, reveals that she also saw the darker side of stardom in her new book, unSweetined, which hits shelves November 3.

According to the New York Daily News,  Stephanie says in her book that she got high on cocaine, even while telling students at universities that she was clean for good. She also describes nights of endless partying with coke, meth, and Ecstasy, even when everyone thought she was sober. She would use the money from her personal appearances to pay for her $700/week drug habit.

“I did a few key bumps and headed to the lecture hall, where a sold-out crowd waited to hear me speak,” Jodie writes in the excerpt at Amazon.com. “I thought for sure that one of the professors would take one look at me and kick me out. But none did. They wanted to hear about the trials and tribulations of Jodie Sweetin, or at least the Jodie Sweetin I had created.”

Jodie says her addiction began when she set out to prove she wasn’t as innocent as the girl she played on TV – and she was certainly successful. Here’s hoping she’s kicked the habit for good.
