		<description>I&#039;m so glad to see more writers bringing this issue to their reader&#039;s attention. It&#039;s clear that shoppers want help in the grocery aisle with making smart choices, but they need to have confidence that the information they&#039;re provided is accurate, and transparency is key. 

Many packaged food labels can be confusing to read and interpret so I applaud the efforts of those trying to help consumers, but intentions must be genuinely to help educate - not to persuade purchases. I hope to see the food manufacturers let leading nutrition-based organizations take the lead on this initiative.</description>

		<description>good post. i&#039;ve been aware for a little while now that a lot of these certified/awarded/good-for-you labels are misleading, but i haven&#039;t really been too sure which are especially misleading.

it&#039;s good to know that Smart Choices is one such label, or at least one to be more skeptical of. but, as you said, always check the nutritional label! can&#039;t lie there!
