Forget U2 — I know what you really want to see is Sarah Palin in the flesh. Fear not; starting November 18 the former Vice Presidential candidate will be taking her freak-show on the road to promote her new book “Going Rogue,” which will be released the previous day.
According to the Associated Press, Sarah will be interviewed by Oprah on November 16 before taking off on her book tour, which will last until at least December 6 and will include a Barnes & Noble store in Grand Rapids, Michigan and the Army post in Fort Bragg, N.C. She will also travel by bus for at least part of the tour (clearly she wants to live like a rock star).
“Going Rogue” has an announced first printing of 1.5 million copies and has been at or near the top of Amazon.com’s best-seller list for several weeks now. The product description says that no one knows the real Sarah Palin, and that the book ”paints an intimate portrait of growing up in the wilds of Alaska; meeting her lifelong love; her decision to enter politics; the importance of faith and family; and the unique joys and trials of life as a high-profile working mother. She also opens up for the first time about the 2008 presidential race, providing a rare, mom’s-eye view of high-stakes national politics—from patriots dedicated to “Country First” to slick politicos bent on winning at any cost.”
Bleh. I feel like I just ate a giant American flag. I’m also wondering why any of us needs to know the “real” Sarah Palin?

not that I would actually read the book or anything, but I’m kind of glad it exists, on some level. i don’t know, something about this woman is simply fascinating to me. i mean, sure, if she actually had any chance of affecting policy in any way, I’d be a little more concerned, but as is, she makes for quite the character study.
plus, as last night’s election results have shown, she can be quite useful to democrats (or at least, upstate New York democrats).
Great article but it didn’t have everythingI didn’t find the kihtcen sink!
