Beauty queen + sex tape = no more lawsuit. Back in September, former Miss California (and runner-up for Miss USA) Carrie Prejan sued the Miss California pageant, claiming that they discriminated against her religious beliefs, causing her to suffer “emotional distress, anxiety, depression and loss of sleep.” She’s the one who kept talking about God and bashing gay marriage, remember?
Now, TMZ reports that she suddenly dropped her $1 million demand when lawyers introduced a sex tape of Carrie. At first she said “that’s disgusting” and denied it was her, but when the camera panned up to her face, it was obvious.
TMZ says they obtained a copy of the video months ago, but could not post it because it was so racy. Which is kind of saying something, for TMZ. Apparently, the tape features Carrie getting her groove on — by herself.
The instant settlement actually looks pretty bad for the solo star. The Pageant is paying around $100,000 to Carrie’s lawyers and publicist — obviously just a fraction of her bills. Carrie will get nothing in the settlement. It seems a bit odd to me… sure, the actual footage isn’t out there yet, but I bet it will be…and the knowledge of its existence is already pretty damaging. Is it really worth giving up a huge lawsuit so that people don’t see that girls just wanna have fun?
