adam-lambert-1By now, everyone has seen the video of Adam Lambert’s ridiculous, sexy (?) performance at the American Music Awards on Sunday, and some people aren’t so thrilled. According to The New York Times, Good Morning America announced today that they’ve canceled Adam’s performance on tomorrow’s show.

An ABC spokeswoman stated, “Given his controversial American Music Awards performance, we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning.”

Adam last appeared on Good Morning America in August, when he performed the Muse song “Starlight,” and later discussed his sexuality in an interview with 20/20 in June. However, it does seem like he’s changed a little bit since then; he’s no longer an American Idol contestant, but a pop star in his own right, with the confidence to stir up controversy.

But should there even be any controversy? Sex and pop music have gone hand in hand forever. Are people getting their feathers ruffled because Adam’s sexy moves aren’t always of the girl-and-boy variety? I’m sure Adam’s people wouldn’t have him perform the same salacious moves from the AMAs so early in the morning — so what exactly is it that Good Morning America is afraid of?

Adam hasn’t responded to the news on his Twitter account, yet, but one of his recent posts is, “All hail freedom of expression and artistic integrity.” Sounds like he’ll keep fighting the good fight.

I think it's sad that the industry has such a double standard! We've been watching Spears and Madonna do these exact same things for years, it was at least 5 yrs ago when "the kiss" took place, and that was "acceptable", I am ashamed of the industry for trying to persecute Adam, all the while saying it's not about being gay, they're saying it's the sexual content they object to. SHAME ON THE INDUSTRY for being two faced.
