Seems like everyone has a blog these days, myself include. Mine, actually, is why I started doing health and fitness writing in the first place. And, what do you know, that dinky little, boringly-templated website has since blossomed into an actual writing career. One that includes writing for this awesome website, along with way too many others, as well as being published in newspapers and magazines, and even the opportunity to host my very own fitness retreat in Costa Rica this upcoming February. (You can come if you want — it’s going to be fun!)
That said, reading about how “you shouldn’t eat past 7:00 p.m.” and how you can “walk off ten pounds in two weeks” again and again, and in the same old magazines and websites, can get, well, boring. Plus, is any of that really realistic?
Fortunately, there are some options. There are some fantastic blogs out there owned by regular people like you and me, with a wealth of information, and huge entertainment value, all about living the healthy life every day.
Here are my top health and fitness blogs:
5. Fit Bottomed Girls

Fit Bottomed Girls looks like a huge corporate fitness site, but it’s actually run by two amazingly hardworking and talented girls, Erin Whitehead and Jenn Walters. Their motto, “Fit Bottoms Come in All Shapes and Sizes,” mirrors their mission to let women of all shapes and sizes know they can be fit, and that they are beautiful. Plus, they often land big interviews with the likes of Bob Harper (lead trainer from “The Biggest Loser”), host awesome giveaways, and give trustworthy reviews of all the latest fitness equipment. You can even rock your “Fit Bottom” pride with their line of shirts and pants.

MizFit is like the quirky, motivating best friend you always wished you had. She gives great fitness advice, but also focuses on living a balanced, fulfilling life. MizFit’s adorable videos with her “Toddler Tornado” show women everywhere that, even as a mom, you can have fun, stay fit and, if you work hard, one day even you can have her amazingly ripped arms.

Kath puts Martha Stewart to shame. For the past three years, Kath has been posting her uber-healthy, clean and well-balanced meals on her wildly popular blog, and in doing so has dropped a significant amount of weight by changing her eating habits. Her inventive and delicious meals show that you don’t have to eat chicken and veggies all day to have a nutritious dinner, and you don’t have to obsess over calories to maintain a weight loss.
2. The Great Fitness Experiment

Miss Charlotte Andersen is a fitness fanatic (in a good way) who will try any fitness program, product or class known to man, in search of the perfect workout. Her wit and outstanding talent makes her blog read like a magazine, and her penchant for helping women work through body and life issues based on her own past experiences makes reading her posts feel like you just had coffee with a friend. Before you try any fitness program, check out TGFE — chances are, you will find the most thorough and entertaining review of your life.

I left the last one for you to decide. What’s your favorite health and fitness blog?

I have read quite some fitness and health blogs. While they are good, I think its better for you to have a coach. Thats why i have referred to a personal trainer from Carlsbad and its working out pretty good.
