Too Faced Cosmetics, known for their cuter-than-thou packaging, has done it again with their Natural Eye Kit, an all-in-one eyeshadow palette that has everything you need to create a variety of natural looks. For those of you who are intimidated by eyeshadow, or, like me, love a variety of neutral colors, this is a great kit.
To start, the packaging is just adorable, shaped like a little jewelry box with a little pull out drawer to hold your brush underneath the shadows. And for those of you who are intimidated, it also comes with three super cute instruction cards in the lid for easy Day, Classic and Fashion (their names, not mine) application tips. The only downside is that it is a little bulky and not very “normal-sized” purse friendly.
I didn’t follow the application cards when I tried this palette, and applied a little bit of everything, yet the colors were nicely pigmented and blended easily. The Fashion colors have sparkly gold glitter that got a little messy. I also don’t recommend that you wear these to the office. I had one stupid glitter stuck on the end of my eyelash all day which drove me mad, but I guess that’s the price you pay for fashion. The Day and Classic shades have a lot less sparkle to them, though, more of a medium to high shimmer and are perfect for daytime.
The included brush, double-sided with a sponge tipped side and a bristle side, and is what you would expect included in a kit — it’s okay. It works in a pinch, but you will get a much smoother look if you use a better quality brush instead. I used the Paula Dorf Sheer Crease Brush and the eyeshadow went on even and smooth and lasted all day.
This is definitely a kit that you can use everyday and not get bored, and because it’s from Too Faced it’s affordable as well. I have a feeling I’m going to be giving a couple of these out this Christmas.
