The ladies at the American Music Awards must have discussed their outfits during one giant pre-red carpet conference call because many of them showed up in similar short metallic dresses. Some were good. And some were better! And then some were simply dangerous. But they were everywhere!
The Good:
Selena Gomez looked like an adorable little disco ball in her sleeveless cocktail dress. I would have changed the shoes, though. Her black strappy heels were a little too ’90s prom, in my opinion. A bright pump might have been better.
The Better:
Carrie Underwood looked sweet in a one-shoulder gold lamé dress with jeweled belt and her new shoulder-length hair completed this peachy look. Kristen Bell, on the other hand, took a risk in a two-piece number that bared a thin sliver of stomach. It was a straightforward look, but I thought the skirt and bandeau top managed to make the outfit interesting. Plus, her simple hair, worn down and parted in the middle, kept the look casual.
The Dangerous:
Oh, Kate Hudson. She looked like she came straight from Studio 54. And almost had a wardrobe malfunction on stage. Her silver chainmail Versace minidress was hot, sure. But, very, very dangerous. Keep an eye on your girls, Kate, if you’re going to wear a dress like this. And, next time, do something with your hair!
Now here is the fashion round-up of stars not rocking the metallic trend on the red carpet: Shakira looked sexy and bright in an electric yellow cut-out Versace mini. Nicole Kidman remained the steadfast movie star we’ve long known her to be in a long ruffled lavender and pink gown. Her hubby, Keith Urban, kept it cool in all black. Rihanna took a risk in a black and white dress with rose cut-outs, but it didn’t work. And poor Kelly Clarkson looked like a mother-of-the-bride in her dowdy jeweled black frock. Adam Lambert, though, looked sexy in a classic black suit paired with cowboy boots. But seriously, he needs to tone down the eyeliner.
Oh, and when did Perez Hilton and American Idol Alum, Black Lewis, start dating? They showed up in coordinated white-on-black and black-on-white tuxedos complete with matching hair styles. Hmm… guess the gals weren’t the only ones who had a style conference call before the show.

We still hope that Carrie Underwood will save her hometown movie theater. I don't know her personally, but I know that she is a wonderful person. http://www.newsok.com/checotah-familys-theater-hopes-turn-sour-with-economy/article/3413557
