Good Morning America may have cancelled Adam Lambert’s performance after he ruffled some feathers at the AMAs, but CBS’ The Early Show was happy to have him sing – and sound off on the controversy.
“I admit I did get carried away, but I don’t see anything wrong with it,” he said of his sexually-charged rendition of new single “For Your Entertainment” on Sunday. “I do see how people got offended, and that was not my intention. My intention was just to interpret the lyrics of my song and have a good time up there.”
Adam also said he’s “not a babysitter, I’m a performer” when asked if he wanted to apologize to parents of any kids who might have been watching. “It was almost 11:00 at night,” he said.
Of course, the controversy is really about Adam’s sexual orientation. He said he thinks the reaction to his performance stems from a double-standard against gay males, asserting that, “If it had been a female pop performer … I don’t think there’d be nearly as much of an outrage at all.” Look at performances from Britney Spears, Lady Gaga…I think he’s right. The Gay & Lebsian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) agrees, calling Good Morning America’s cancellation “disappointing.”
Adam did promise parents that his morning performance on The Early Show would be “appropriate.” See what you think!

Why is your headline the exact opposite of his actual quote, which is quoted correctly in the body of your post? He said he understood how some people got offended. Perhaps it's a typo, which should be corrected.

Such a double standard in the industry how sad!!!! We've been watching the likes of Spears and Madonna to this for years, SHAME on the industry! They say it's not "gay bashing", "it's not about being gay" "it's about the sexual content," well I don't buy that! Rock on Adam!

ok kara no he doesn't need to clean up his act. it's his way of acting and performing. kids shouldn't be up that late watching tv. and if you don't like the way he acts or performs maybe you shouldn't watch his video's or listen to his music
