So you are probably either going to laugh, or say “duh” when I say this (I guess I’m assuming you follow along closely, which might be a little conceited), but I realized this week that I don’t need to do the DVDs to do P90X. I was complaining a bit about the claustrophobia I was experiencing working out in the same bedroom everyday, but I realized I don’t have to watch the DVDs to do the workouts–all the workouts are laid out in the book!
Now, I didn’t make any huge leaps, like actually going to the gym–I think I would be too distracted by the cardio machines and BOSU and end up straying–but I did enter the great, big world of my living room. It was like seeing colors I had never seen before.
In the program overview, I told you that all the routines were written out in the Fitness Manual if you wanted to do them elsewhere, and then I promptly forgot. I think I was too blinded by the excitement of the prospect of not leaving my house and not having to change out of my pjs to get in a work out–oh, how naive I was back then.
Last week, I almost had a nervous breakdown–I was putting out fires left and right, my workload seems to have doubled, plus I am in the middle of a move, and with the holidays and a big trip coming up, and I completely forgot to do my plyometric workout (the toughest one), and skipped the ab workout the day before in order to not be late for a meeting, promising to do it the next day. So here it was, Tuesday night, and I had two workouts to do. Meanwhile “The Biggest Loser” was on. All I wanted to do was curl up and watch other people work out, not actually engage in any activity myself!
I thought, ”I’ve done this ab workout a million times, I could just write it all down and do it in front of the TV,” and no sooner than the thought passed my mind, did I felt like an idiot because I remembered the Fitness Manual. I grabbed it, strapped on my heart rate monitor, and did both workouts, all without missing a single popped vein in Jillian’s forehead.
I may just be brave enough next week to take the workout to the gym, but we’ll see. After six weeks of workouts, cooped up in my house, I’m scared the florescent lights may burn my skin.
Have you missed anything?

Love P90X on the road. Once you know all the moves, you just need the tracking sheets to do the strength workouts wherever you want to. I love do to them at the gym. They always have good pull up bars and lots of weights to throw around. Keep Bringing it!

Half way through P90X - awesome! Isn't it empowering for a woman to make it through these tough drills? You've got totally got the mindset for permanent change if you're just going by the book. You should think about coaching. http://BeachBodyCoach.com/juliebutts
