ABC Cancels Adam Lambert AGAIN

ABC just can’t get over its fear of Adam Lambert. After canceling his Good Morning America appearance last week due to concerns about showing a repeat of his sexually charged AMA performance on morning television, the network has cancelled two nighttime appearances, The Huffington Post reports.

Adam was scheduled to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live and appear on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve show with Ryan Seacrest. Were they afraid Ryan might get too hot and bothered? And as for JKL – let’s not forget about how that show made the phrase “I’m f—ing Matt Damon” famous. JKL airs after MIDNIGHT. What is the big concern here? No kids should be awake to watch any oversexed dance moves. I know that Disney owns ABC, but I’m completely bewildered about the homophobia here, especially when ABC is so comparatively progressive with its scripted programming.

Despite the rejection, Adam has remained a good sport about the whole thing. He posted the following messages on Twitter last night:

Yes, sadly friends, ABC has cancelled my appearances on Kimmel and NYE. don’t blame them. It’s the FCC heat.

I AM doing Leno though. And lookin into something for NYE.

It’ll all blow over. Let’s focus on being positive!

I don’t really think the FCC has anything to do with it, but I’m glad that he is moving forward. Go Adam!
