Britney on the Cover of Elle: WTF?

britney-elle-cover-1Everybody loves a comeback story  — and I do admit that I’m rooting for Britney to stay on our side of sanity and keep cranking out the hits — but what’s with her new Elle cover? She’s wearing some kind of hideous neck-to-knee furry thing and hanging out in a cage or something. Maybe my taste just isn’t couture, since apparently it’s a Valentino goatskin coat with fox fur and marabou-feather trim. What do you guys think? High fashion or just highly weird?

You have to buy the new January issue (which also offers an alternative cover with Lady Gaga) to get the full story, but according to MTV News, there’s no interview with Britney, just some interesting and bizarre photos. And speaking of bizarre, Lady Gaga’s interview includes discussions about marriage, babies and death. And yet, somehow, I’m not surprised.

Britney’s single “3″ was a big hit this year, but she seems to be fading into the background behind pop sensations Gaga, Beyonce, and Taylor Swift, who just nabbed a ton of Grammy nominations. Are we completely over Britney? I don’t think so. I think she can get back on top, as long as she focuses on her music and doesn’t fall back into having highly-publicized meltdowns.

  1. Obviously thatss not the cover the real cover is her and her kids idiot do some research before writting a whole article on it.

  2. Jay Blanchette says:

Britney Spears was actually nominated for a grammy as well as the others. It was in the Best Dance Single Category, for “Womanizer.” If she wins this will be her second grammy, the first being for “Toxic.” She has been around for a little over a decade, say what you will, but I doubt she is going to fade out. Talk to me in ten years after Taylor or GaGa is around.
