Like a cat, I hate getting my hands wet. Every time my hands meet water I MUST immediately apply hand lotion after or I will be a very cranky girl. My dry, uncomfortable hands will consume my every thought until I find relief. For this reason, I have lotion stashed everywhere. In my purse, in my car, at my desk, in the kitchen, in the bathroom and, of course, bedside (a must). But while I always have hand lotion within arms reach, I am also very picky — most hand lotions do not meet my high standards.
So for those of you with equally high standards (or who like smooth hands too), these are my top five favorite hand lotions. I’m always looking for new lotions to try so if you have one that you can’t live without please, let me know. I am fanatical and will try them all.

This is my all time, number one favorite hand lotion. I know Curel has a tendency to sit on the skin for a while, but this really is a fast absorbing cream. It have a very light scent, keeps my cuticles nice and hydrated, and leaves my hands baby-smooth for hours on end. I won’t leave the house without it.
L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream

I usually don’t care for fragrance in my hand creams, but this one has a really nice scent, as it is neither overpowering nor does it linger too long. It also has shea butter in it, so it leaves the hands soft and protected, and, unlike most shea butter creams, it doesn’t get your hands all sticky either. Plus the tube is a nice size for small purses.
Archipelago Botanicals Soy Milk Hand Cream

I love the way this hand cream smells, as it’s a very natural, non-perfumey scent. It’s almost food like, but I can’t quite put my finger on what food. The consistency is moderately thick, but it absorbs well and the soy can help with chapping. This is good for wintertime and can be used on the elbows and knees as well.
Lippmann Rich Girl Hand and Cuticle Cream

Deborah Lippmann is a celebrity manicurist with her own line of nail care products. This cream is the only one that has SPF 25 which we all know is a big plus. What I also like about this cream, though, is that it won’t leave that sticky sunscreen residue on your hands and that it absorbs quickly.
Bliss High Intensity Hand Cream

I only really use this one as an overnight treatment or if my hands have been through some abuse. But it’s a good, non-greasy formula with a light lemony scent. It features Macadamia Oil and Grapeseed extract, both of which hydrate and nourish the skin with antioxidants, giving the cream mild anti-aging properties to it as well.
