Adam Lambert on “The View”

adam-lambert-1It looks as though ABC has ended its ban on Adam Lambert. The American Idol runner-up appeared on The View this morning, addressing the scandal that erupted after his sexually-charged performance at the American Music Awards.

Adam repeated much of the same sentiment as he had in his previous interview on CBS’ The Early Show. “I’m not a babysitter,” he said. “My job is not to take care of your children. That’s your job. I think it’s up to parents to figure out what they want their kids to watch.”

Barbara Walters suggested that perhaps all the attention, albeit negative, is making people sit up and take notice of Adam when they may not have known who he was. “That’s definitely a good point there,” Adam said. “It brought awareness and visibility. It may not have been the exact visibility I was looking for, cause I think people have been so caught up in talking about this ‘scandal’ and ABC pulling me off and this and that that they’re not focusing on this,” he said, picking up a copy of his new album For Your Entertainment, “And that’s what I’m about.”

He also discussed the double-standard of people being okay with a Britney-Madonna kiss and not a guy-guy kiss. “I think that it’s because I’m a dude,” he said.
