Lindsay Lohan Reportedly Scared of … India

Someone in Lilo’s camp has told Radaronline that the blond tabloid diva is “a little overwhelmed and a little freaked out,” about spending time in India, especially because “there isn’t much security there in general,” and that her “celebrity makes her vulnerable.”

In case you didn’t hear, Linds is there working on a documentary about human trafficking. And that’s not a joke at all. Still, Lohan has reason to be nervous, it’s only been a year since the deadly attacks in Mumbai.

As far as this blogger is aware, though, there is no official fatwa on Lohan’s head (unless you count the one Samantha Ronson’s family issued), so chances are, she’s probably relatively safe there in India.

There have been hundreds of movies about westerners being shocked and awed, and sometimes disgusted, by chaotic, colorful and “exotic” India (see: Passage to India, The Darjeeling Limited, Holy Smoke, hell, even Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom!). The problem with most movies about India, though, is it sells people a skewed image, and rarely anything realistic about the lives of ordinary people. It’s possible that Miss Lohan is, quite simply, seeing a country in all its day-to-day realism — and this freaks her shiz out! Oddly enough, Lohan should know there are extremely poor people living in her own city too. Gasp!
