Using sex to sell products is nothing new, but Toyota has taken it a little too far. According to The Huffington Post, they’ve pulled an Australian ad for the Toyota Yaris after numerous accusations that the video was not only sexist, but also made light of incest.
The online ad, entitled “Clean Getaways,” is filled with sexual innuendos and suggestive double entendres. It begins with a young man telling his date’s father, ”I’m here to take Jennifer’s virginity out tonight.” From there the young man reels off such lines as, “I hope I haven’t come too prematurely,” “it has traction control for when it gets a bit slippery and wet,” and “I’ll have her on her back by 11, I promise.” Check it out for yourself:
How could Toyota have ever thought that those lines would be okay?? What’s even more surprising is that the ad was created as part of the “Clever Film Comp,” a short-film competition organized in part by Toyota. What perverts voted for this ad?
Not long after the ad became the winner of the online contest, the competition’s Facebook page was flooded with outraged comments from users. The Toyota Yaris is mainly marketed to young women — which makes the sexist ad seem even stranger.

I don’t know…. I laughed through the whole thing! I guess it is a bit much for a car commercial.
I think they were reaching with it. When he did the whole head shake through the airbags… I know I don’t want a Yaris. That’s all I know.
hmmm, pretty tasteless. I can tell you who voted for this commercial on through, though: guys!
