Back in the 80s, I wanted to be Jessie’s Girl.  Who didn’t? Not only did that mean I had a really great boyfriend I was madly in love with and who adored me as well, but Rick Springfield was hot for me and willing to betray his best friend to risk it. How romantic is that?

Springfield, who recently turned sixty, doesn’t look a day over forty, as anyone who tuned into season three of Californication can tell you. In an outlandish portrayal of himself, Springfield dazzled Californication viewers, playing the sex-crazed, drug addict rockstar so full of himself, you couldn’t help but want him. He spent quite a bit of time onscreen in the buff, and I have to say, sixty or not, Springfield is still hot.

The real question is, who lies behind those mysterious hazel eyes? Anyone who’s ever wanted to know more about Rick Springfield will get the chance to slip inside his mind in October 2010. Word on the street is that he’s signed a contract with Touchstone Fireside, a division of Simon & Schuster, to pen an exclusive memoir titled, “Late, Late at Night.”

I, for one, am rather curious as to what goes on late, late at night with Rick Springfield, and this upcoming memoir promises to provide longtime fans with candid details on his rise to stardom, his career as an actor and musician and his lifelong bout with clinical depression.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I have an old cassette single of “Jessie’s Girl” stashed somewhere in the car.
