While some of the best movies of 2009 are basking in the glow of a Golden Globe nomination, there is a much larger group of movies receiving notoriety of a whole different sort. That’s right, as this decade comes to a close, so comes the list of worst movies of the past ten years.

The list is long and quite undistinguished, but it is incomplete and contains a few questionable choices. Now, I haven’t seen a lot of the movies on this list. And there’s a reason why. The trailers couldn’t even spin these movies into something appetizing enough to get me into the theater or even the video store. And I’m sure most of you would agree. But, hey, you may have liked “From Justin to Kelly (2003),” which rightfully made it onto the list. Some of the other worst movies of the decade included on the list are: “Battlefield Earth (2000),” the John Travolta sci-fi disaster that rang in the 21st century; ”Freddy Got Fingered (2001),” thanks Tom Greene; the “Bennifer” nightmare “Gigli (2003)”; “Catwoman (2004),” luckily, Halle Berry landed on her feet after that one; and “Glitter (2001).”

I just don’t know how the list missed such gems as the 2005 remake of ”Dukes of Hazzard” or the disasters “Corky Ramano (2001)” and “Little Nicky (2000)” from “Saturday Night Live” alums Chris Kattan and Adam Sandler.  But, sadly, the list is spot on by including “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).” They couldn’t just leave well enough alone and tarnished an epic franchise with an awful fourth installment.

However, the list did include “The Ring (2002),” which became a runaway horror hit. And, also “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009),” which sucked compared to the first movie, but certainly wasn’t the worst of the decade.

So, there you go. The worst movies of the past ten years, according to some. Do you agree?
