Top 5 Hottest New Male Stars of 2009

It’s been a pretty negative year, from the sucky economy to MJ’s move to the afterlife. So let’s reflect on the positive new additions to the canon of hot men:

1. Chris Pine

If a guy can make Star Trek sexy, he’s got some pretty serious power. Before the summer’s sci fi hit, the 29 year-old California boy was pretty unknown – but now I expect we’ll be seeing Chris’ devilish grin all over the silver screen. And I’m totally okay with that.

2. Paul Wesley

Okay, so maybe you saw him on Army Wives or that memorable OC epsiode in which he pulled a gun (!!), but this 27 year-old who plays a hundred-something-year-old bloodsucker on The Vampire Diaries has earned a spot on my list with his chiseled jaw, brooding stare and toned torso. If vamps aren’t your thing, be sure to catch him on 24 in 2010!

3. Taylor Lautner

Twilight sequel New Moon proved that it’s not all about Robert Pattinson anymore; many Twi-hards (God, it pains me just to write that) have declared themselves ardent members of Team Jacob, meaning they appreciate Taylor’s abs as much as I do. The 17 year-old from Michigan has been romantically linked to Taylor Swift, but all I have to say is: ain’t no ring, ain’t no thang.

4. Cory Monteith & Mark Salling

They probably hate that they always have to share spots on lists, but I guess the two hearthrobs of wacky new musical comedy Glee should be used to spending a lot of time together. Cory plays Finn Hudson, the cute all-American boy, while Mark rocks the bad-boy mohawk as Noah “Puck” Puckerman. Of course, none of these kids are old enough to remember Puck from The Real World.

5. Adam Lambert

He may not be your type, but the American Idol runner-up is so sexy that he’s constantly stirring up controversy. ABC seems to have blacklisted him, but he’s going to keep singing and dancing despite all the ruffled feathers. You can’t help but smirk at his campy album cover, and be glad that he’s so dedicated to singing for our entertainment.
