HA! Finally, photographic proof that size matters not, when it comes to fashion.

Photographer Terry Richardson snapped a spread for next month’s issue of V Magazine placing a plus size model (size 16, a published memoirist) Crystal Renn, next to a more conventional catwalk model Jacquelyn Jablonski, wearing identical outfits. On a cursory glance, you don’t see the differences right away. On careful study, you notice Renn’s thighs, waistline, and arms aren’t stick figure thin. Renn is more real – dare I say it – fleshy, exuding some actual sexuality. The girl on the right is more of a high fashion ideal – you simply don’t relate to her as much. I wouldn’t want to be poked with those elbows.
This spread comes on the heels of British designer Mark Fast’s decision to include un-skeletal women for his London Week fashion show. His choice apparently sent his stylist into a skinny tizzy, as she resigned an hour before his show.
Here’s one of the skimpy knitwear looks on one of the normal-sized models – what do you think?
