Jimmy Sullivan, the drummer for the band Avenged Sevenfold, has been found dead at the age of 28. According to The Huffington Post, Jimmy (also known as “The Rev”) was found unresponsive Monday at his home in Huntington Beach.
Lt. John Domingo of the Huntington Beach Police Department says the death appeared to be from natural causes – but an autopsy is expected to be done today. Like in the recent death of actress Brittany Murphy, it always raises suspicions when such young people die of “natural” causes.
According to The Orange County Register, the band was reportedly busy at work on finishing its fifth album and third for Warner Brothers. News about how they might proceed without The Rev is yet to be announced. The band has posted this Facebook note in response to The Rev’s death:
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. Jimmy was not only one of the world’s best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy’s family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time.
Jimmy you are forever in our hearts.
