I’ve noticed something, and I’ve been noticing it for a while. There is a lot of good men’s skin care available these days, and you know what, they can be somewhat cheaper than your regular products (although this is quickly changing as men’s skin care becomes increasingly popular). My husband is strictly a soap man since he stopped shaving (seriously every man I know has grown a beard recently) and has always left it to me to try all of the samples, trial sizes and even full sized products I get my hands on. I beg him to try them so I can get his input, but it never works and I eventually end up just using them myself so they don’t go bad.
In a nutshell, I’ve tried a lot of men’s skin care, and there are some great products out there that women can benefit from as well. We’ve all used our man’s products before in a pinch, with mixed results, but rest assured: if your man has any of the below products, you may find yourself “forgetting” your stuff more often.
Anthony Logistics Algae Facial Cleanser
This bright blue gel cleanser is loaded with aloe and glycolic acid for dry, acne prone skin. The glycolic helps with fine lines and acne and the algae (which makes it blue) is good for oil absorption. This cleanser leaves this skin feeling clean and soft without over dying and it has a light fresh scent.
Lab Series Invigorating Facial Scrub
This is a basic exfoliating scrub, plain and simple. But the granules pack a little more punch than other scrubs. I wouldn’t recommend this for super-sensitive skin, it might be a little too rough for you, but it works well on thick or sun-damaged skin.
This toner smells delicious. It’s got a nice light mint scent that is just delightful on the skin. Even though my husband doesn’t use toner, the scent of this toner makes me think of how he smells when he first gets out of the shower. Yum. For normal to oily skin types.
My brother in law uses this and I tried it over Thanksgiving when I forgot my own moisturizer at home (and hadn’t noticed my sister’s until it was too late). It feels nice and cooling to the skin and it kept my face matte almost all day. The scent is nice and not to overpowering, and it absorbed into the skin quickly.
This is a lightweight gel that works really well on puffiness and discoloration around the eye. It leaves the eye area hydrated and is good for days you will be wearing a lot of eye make up as it absorbs quickly and will reduce any smudging your regular eye cream may cause.
