Add this to the file of How Facebook Can Ruin Your Life. A kid named Chris was upset because his sister ratted him out to their strict Asian parents for having a 12-pack of beer in his room. According to GearFuse, he got grounded for three months. But, while I agree that it’s a pretty intense punishment, his method of revenge was both intense and mortifying: he found a “hook up list” she had written and posted it on Facebook for all to see, tagging each of the guys she hoped to hook up with.
Check it out; it’s hilarious, but horrible. The list is pretty graphic, detailing exactly which sexual acts she hoped to accomplish. Yowza. It really sucks that this was visible to all the girl’s Facebook friends, but the real culprit here is not social networking, but her evil brother. Come on, Chris, it sucks to be grounded, but at least you can show your face in school. This girl’s entire high school experience has been tarnished. There are always new rumors going around high schools, but something tells me that her classmates are going to be talking about this for a long time.
The obvious lesson is that you probably should never physically write down stuff like this, in the same way that you shouldn’t send naked pictures of yourself to people. There are just so many things that can go wrong.
