Famous People Don’t Make New Year’s Resolutions

As the end of one year rolls around, people start looking forward to the fresh start of a new year. And the transition from 2009 to 2010 was no different: champagne was sipped, kisses were shared, and resolutions were made. But, this year, some celebrities decided not to make resolutions. Apparently, they can’t keep them or just don’t see the point in putting off what should be done everyday until the eve of a new year.

To which I say, “bah, humbug.” What is the big deal indulging in a little tradition and just coming up with a resolution? Play along, celebrities! Yes, we should all aspire to live every day to the fullest and be the best people we can be each day of our lives, but would it kill you to come up with one goal for 2010?

I think celebrities like Peter Facinelli, Sheryl Crow and Candace Cameron Bure missed the point of making a resolution for the new year. It’s not so that you can put off until tomorrow what should be done today. It’s just a goal. Something to work on. It’s not like I plan on overeating for the whole of 2010, just so I can resolve to eat better in 2011. I’m pretty sure most people don’t decide on a resolution until the year draws to a close. Come on. Thankfully, the cast of “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel” (Zachary Levi, Amy Poehler and Christina Applegate) could laugh at the whole debate. To make a resolution or not to make a resolution? That is the question.

It wasn’t much of a debate for Christina Aguilara. She’s one celebrity who didn’t mind making a resolution. What was her goal for 2010 you ask? Basically, to continue being awesome. Perhaps next year she should work on her modesty.
