A Canadian boutique has come up with a rather disturbing editorial shoot involving a dog and a model to advertise the stores’ high-end designer goods. But, I think they took edgy one step too far with their undeniably disturbing photo shoot that was clearly inspired by the taboo relationship between a woman and a dog.
At first, I worried that the way I interpreted the photos said more about me than it does about the people who created the images. I no longer worry that my mind is a sewer however. It’s clear these photos were intended to conjure up ideas of a sexual relationship between the model and the dog. And it’s truly disturbing. In one, the pantsless model is straddling the dog. In another, the model has one hand between her legs while the dog bites the other one. In all of the photos, the model seems to be in an overwhelming state of ecstasy. Some people are trying to justify the pictures by calling them art. There is nothing artistic about them, with the exception of the model’s makeup. Rather, the pictures are completely “ew” inspiring.
And what of the dog? I wonder how he would feel if he could understand that he was a pawn in a bestiality-inspired fashion shoot! I cry animal exploitation! Poor dog. Someone call PETA. He’s not the one making the suggestive faces. No doubt this model felt dirty afterward and had to take a cold shower to wash away the “ick.” In fashion there is “edgy” and there is “trashy.” Classify these photos under the latter.
Oh, by the way, did anyone catch the designer’s name on the clothes the model’s wearing?
Ew. Just ew. Words cannot describe how disgusted I am.
