I don’t know about you ladies, but paying thousands of dollars for the ability to wear a gorgeous, luxurious designer gown is just not in my budget. (Nor has it ever been.) Then again, there is nothing quite like feeling like you’re the belle of the ball in a beautifully textured dress that makes you look ridiculously hot. Fortunately, there’s a solution.
RENT THE RUNWAY. You might have heard of them on “The Today Show,” the New York Times, or maybe you Googled them. How does this amazing service work? Well, they buy high fashion pieces from top designers and then offer rentals at just 10% of the retail price. All you do is go to their website, put the chosen dress or two in the basket, specify a delivery time, and they’ll deliver the dress in two different sizes. (Just in case.) And right now, Rent the Runway is running a promotion of $350/month for unlimited designer dress rentals and $900 for a season pass for January 2010-March 2010. (Fraction of the cost of buying an ACTUAL designer dress.)
PLUS, all you have to do once you’re finished with the dress is re-pack it and send it back in the pre-paid packaging. How simple is that? Netflix for High Fashion dresses, you know you want to enter!
