The beginning of American Idol is always the most entertaining, since we’re subjected to all the weirdos who want their fifteen minutes of fame and the crazy, delusional people who think they’re talented. Which one is General Larry Pratt? I’m not sure, but according to USA Today, his part in American Idol 2010 auditions and rendition of the song “Pants on the Ground” has already become a You Tube sensation, even spawning remix versions. Check out the original video:
I really don’t know what to say about that. Once he finally got Larry to stop, Simon said, “I have a horrible feeling that song could be a hit.” He also broke Larry the sad news that at 62, the spirited dude has missed the age requirement for American Idol by 34 years. Simon also said, “I don’t think this is going to be the last we’ll be hearing about you. I have a feeling about you, Larry.” Oh, that Simon. So wise about future internet sensations. Meanwhile, the other judges couldn’t stop repeating “pants on the ground.” Pretty catchy stuff.
Check out abeatbox version here. I’m also a big fan of the “official remix” version. What do you guys think? It’s funny, but it’s no Tiger Woods “Name Off Your Phone” remix.
