Harrison Ford can’t wait to make a fifth installment of the “Indiana Jones” franchise. Meanwhile, the rest of us are all groaning at the thought. Right? As if the fourth movie wasn’t bad enough, George Lucas and Harrison are going ahead with yet another, probably bad, sequel.

While it’s unclear what it is just yet, Harrison is promising that George Lucas has some genius idea in mind for this next film. Hopefully, it’s nothing like the genius idea he had in mind for the fourth movie, “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” Aliens, Indiana and an atomic explosion made for one big artistic bomb of a movie, despite the fact that the movie was “da bomb” at the box office, raking in just under $800 million worldwide. Which is why we’re having this discussion now. Money!

As for Harrison’s age being a factor behind the rush to start filming the latest movie, it doesn’t concern me. Harrison quips about not doing the film in a wheelchair, but I don’t think he’s concerned about his age. He knows he’s still got it (note that devilish smirk of his). Rather, it’s the George Lucas’ hairbrained ideas and special effects overkill (get off my back high-tech geeks, all the special effects in the world don’t make up for a bad story) that cause me to scoff at the thought of yet another movie.

What made the first three films iconic was their down-and-dirty action, the films’ rugged star and some seriously awesome adventures. Not green screens, aliens and a cartoonish Cate Blanchett. So, if this next film is shaping up to be anything like the last, Harrison, maybe it’s time to throw in the fedora.

I agree completely! I still want to see another film however. I think they should push forward with it because I have faith...how be it extremely small, that they learned from their mistakes. Really the thing that ticked me off about Indy 4 was that they lied to us saying it would be "just like the others." Liars!

I'm hoping that the genius who wrote this article will learn how to spell genius before she writes anything else. Gosh Kendra...what you're saying here is truly original! You must've put some real though into this. Thanks so much for providing us with such bold commentary. 3 out of 4 ain't that bad, genius. And I'll bet on Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford (whose performance in Indy 4 was spot on) any day.

What a stupid mistake on my part. Way to capitalize on that one, B-ret! I would have done the same thing if I were in your shoes. That is, if I could put any "thought" into the things I write. It’s funny that in your rush to prove your superiority you made a spelling error of your own. And, while it might not be the "bold commentary" you're starving for, it did yield not one, but two, comments from you.
