As if I didn’t already love Brett Favre enough, he’s making my heart melt with his new music career. Like everyone else in the country, the 40-year-old quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings has been swept up in the fever of General Larry Platt’s “Pants on the Ground” song from the American Idol auditions last week. Brett liked the ditty so much, in fact, that he burst into song in the Vikings locker room this weekend, leading the team in a hilarious cheer. Check out the video:
You can’t really blame the guy for getting excited, considering that the Minnesota Vikings haven’t advanced to the NFC Championships since 2000. Now, if only the cameras had panned a little lower, in case his teammates took his “pants on the ground” mantra as advice. That’s something I’d like to see.
Apparently, the original “Pants on the Ground” master isn’t done with his fifteen minutes of fame just yet. 63-year-old Larry appeared on The View this morning to give a repeat performance of his insta-hit. He’s gotten the Hollywood makeover, trading in his ratty t-shirt for a stylish new brown vest, hat and jeans. Check it out:
The guy’s funny, but when will this end? This is not a song. This is a guy saying “pants on the ground” over and over. I guess that’s the appeal?
