Heidi Montag had 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day last November, but insists she isn’t “addicted,” as People magazine claimed last week. In an interview this morning on Good Morning America, the 23 year-old star of MTV’s The Hills said that she just wants to be as beautiful as she can be, and that critics don’t know the real her.
“I would say that none of those people know me at all,” she said. ”And that’s just a judgment. I’m not addicted. If you’re addicted to something, you have to do it all the time, not once every couple years, if even,” she said.
Heidi’s surgeon, Dr. Frank Ryan, said many young people get cosmetic surgery, and that it is a popular elective surgery in Hollywood. Critics have focused on the large number of procedures that Heidi underwent, but Ryan claimed they weren’t major facial and body procedures. “I disagree that it is that much plastic surgery,” Ryan said. “These are little tweaks and things we did. … These were all kind of small things.”
For the record, the little tweaks included a nose job revision, a mini brow lift, bigger breast implants and buttock augmentation. Heidi first went under the knife in 2007, when she got breast implants.
Heidi claims she’s not trying to be a Barbie. “I think I just look like a different, improved version of myself,” she said. But what message is she sending to her fans?
