A lot of celebs start dating after meeting on set, at parties or through friends. But then there are people like pop singer Katy Perry, who started dating Russell Brand after throwing a water bottle at his head. According to Contact Music, Katy said, “I threw an empty water bottle at his head across Radio City Music Hall at the VMAs and it hit him straight in the head and I said ‘Hiiiiiiii!!’ And from then on it’s always been like ‘Oh God…’ So thanks, empty water bottle.”

It seems like an un-advisable way to find a boyfriend, but Katy now has a ring on her finger. During a New Year’s trip to India, the pop star accepted Russell’s proposal. Still, she’s in no rush to exchange vows. She said, ”We love each other and we desperately want to be with each other, so we’re going to take it as we come. I think the right time will be the right time.”

Here are some more bizarre celebrity how-we-met stories: Evangeline Lilly and Dominic Monaghan met on the set of Lost, but their romance began when Evangeline’s house burned down and Dominic was there to support her. According to AOL, they’re now engaged!
