LaRocca Skincare, Duwop founder Laura DeLuisa LaRocca’s newest brainchild that uses 24k colloidal gold (in what they call Cellular Gold Complex) in all of their products has created Shield Lip Balm, a lip treatment that is not only hydrating but is anti-bacterial as well.

From the LaRocca website:

“Our exclusive Cellular Gold Complex stimulates cell regeneration, delivering anti-oxidants and active ingredients to the skin’s deepest layer for supreme results. Mangosteen Extract and Brazilian Cha de Burge provide anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties. Sea Buckthorn provides essential vitamins and minerals while L-Arginine an amino acid aids in the process of collagen formation for softer, healthier lips.”

I find this concept interesting as I use lip balm constantly.  And although I kicked my long-standing nail biting habit, I still have a pretty big oral fixation and constantly find my fingers in my mouth (I know it’s gross, I’m working on it). I wash my hands frequently to prevent illness but I’ve never thought about my lip balm and how that could lead to colds as well. I’ve already ordered a tube and will let you all know how it tastes, feels and smells as soon as it arrives.

With all sorts of creepy germs and H1N1 around you can never be too careful and I’m sure this lip balm will soon find its way into all of your purses soon.
