Padma Lakshmi’s Baby Daddy: Adam Dell

adam-dell-padma-1 I have a little vendetta against Padma Lakshmi. She’s a former model, a host, a chef, an author of Tangy, Tart, Hot and Sweet , and probably not entirely human. How can she eat all that gourmet food on Top Chef and be so skinny? Still, I was as intrigued when I heard of the mystery surrounding her baby’s paternity.

According to The New York Post’s Page Six, the mystery is over: Padma’s baby daddy is Adam Dell, 40, the tech-savvy younger brother of billionaire computer maker Michael Dell. Adam is a venture capitalist who teaches at Columbia Business School. Clearly Padma likes smart, rich guys — her ex-husband is author Salman Rushdie, and she had long been linked to Teddy Forstmann, the owner of IMG talent agency. Many people assumed Teddy was the father of 39-year-old Padma’s child, who is due next month.

Padma announced she was pregnant back in October. Given that she has suffered for years with endometriosis, the pregnancy was described by her doctor as “nothing short of a medical miracle.” When Padma appeared on Jimmy Fallon in late November, she said she loved being pregnant. “I’m totally blissed out,” she said.

Lakshmi’s publicist, Christina Papadopoulos, said that Padma “has no interest in sharing with the public the identity of the father.” The mystery continues!
