Stop Everything: John Edwards Has a Sex Tape?

John Edwards’ former mistress and baby-mamma Rielle Hunter has obtained a court order demanding that the Edwards camp turn over videotapes and photographs Hunter believes belongs to her. This comes on the heels of the upcoming publication of The Politician, a tell-all book written by former Edwards aide Andrew Young, who also alleges that he found a sex tape made by the two before the January 2008 Iowa caucuses.

But is it really a sex romp on tape? According to the authorities of the Orange County, North Carolina’s Sheriff’s Office, the court order “speaks to video recordings and photographs that depict matters of a private and personal nature.”

Young definitely thinks it’s Edwards, but the tapes aren’t quite clear about who’s on the receiving end. Young also told Good Morning America that during the height of the tensions with the Edwards family, he feared for his life and thought of Vince Foster, the Clinton aid whose mysterious suicide is still believed to be a political cover-up.

It’s certainly very, very, VERY much over for Edwards from a political perspective, especially since everyone is buzzing about Edwards’ manly endowment, although such speculation is highly unlikely because who exactly has seen this tape? Oh yes, that’s right, the media gadfly, Andrew Young. Still, Edwards has been since labeled as an egotistical narcissist by many who had to suffer through his campaigns.

While most of us are already turning away in shame and disgust — how much farther can a presidential hopefully fall? — the rest of us simply want to know:

Who the EFF makes a sex tape knowing he is about to run for the most public office in our fair land?
