The Bonnaroo music and arts festival has announced their 2010 lineup – and there are some pretty rockin’ bands. Performers include Weezer, The Flaming Lips with Stardeath and White Dwarfs (and it says they’re going to play “Dark Side of the Moon”!), The Avett Brothers, John Fogerty, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Ingrid Michaelson, Phoenix, Cross Canadian Ragweed, The XX, Regina Spektor, Mayor Hawthorne and the County, Wale, Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers, Norah Jones, Bass Nectar, OK Go, Monte Montgomery, Jay-Z, Punch Brothers, Theivery Corporation, Gwar, She & Him, Jimmy Cliff, Tokyo Police Club, Kid Cudi, Japandroids, Dr. Dog, Baba Maal, Neon Indian, Zac Brown Band, The National, John Prine and Dave Matthews Band. The festival will continue to unveil new artists on its MySpace page every few minutes. I see what they’re doing here…and they’re totally hooking me!

The festival takes place June 10-13 on a beautiful 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee. In addition to dozens of epic performances, the festival’s 100-acre entertainment village buzzes around the clock with attractions and activities including a classic arcade, on-site cinema, silent disco, comedy club, theater performers, a beer festival, and a music technology village.
I’ve never been to a huge multi-day music festival because I always feel like you get too exhausted to really enjoy the bands…but maybe this year is the year to change that.
