Lady Gaga & Cyndi Lauper on TODAY Show (VIDEO)

You might say that Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” is just the 2000s version of “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper–so it makes sense that the two fabulous pop icons are teaming up. They appeared on The TODAY Show together this morning, with Gaga looking nearly normal in sunglasses and a bow made of hair and Cyndi rocking a big black headband and frizzy updo. Gaga is a professed Cyndi fan. “I used to listen to Cyndi all the time,” she said, swooning as she named “True Colors” as her favorite song. But the ladies also had something serious to talk about, MAC’s Viva Glam Spring 2010 campaign to promote AIDS awareness. “Cyndi and I feel very honored to be part of this Viva Glam Mac campaign,” Gaga said. “For me it’s about sort of being allotted responsibility to young people that I have always wanted. I’ve always wanted to be able to connect with the world and speak out about my beliefs.”

MAC is selling special $14 lipsticks, with all proceeds going to the MAC AIDS fund to support men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS.

Would Gaga and Cyndi ever sing a duet? Lady Gaga seemed game for it, saying she would “in the spirit of fighting AIDS awareness.”
