Mother McCain and Daughter Cindy Go Rogue
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Everyone and their palm-notes-reading mother is all down with going rogue, ever since Tina Fey joyfully used the expression against the ever-articulatin’ Mother Palin during the ’08 election. But now the McCains are showing the ever-suffering Palins how going rogue is truly done.
Come On, Rogue!:
On Monday, Meghan McCain took the former Governor to task for her rhetorical double standards on The View. Palin demanded that White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel apologize for recently using the word “retarded” to describe persnickety Democrats–he called them f*(&ing “retarded”. However, Mrs. Palin didn’t make a signle peep when fellow supporter in the destruction of ANWAR Rush Limbaugh used the same word, and Meghan McCain called her on it, stating the Right “can’t say Democrats can say one thing and Republicans another.” Meghan pushed the sword even further saying, “This is what’s wrong with this country now.”
The Double-Rogue:
Meghan uploaded this photo to her Twitter/Twitpic in October of last year and got castigated by followers & supporters, who seemed to forget the young lady is usually more modest. Is it rogue-y? Only rogue-y if you’re a Pubbie? After all, Patti Davis did a LOT worse 16 years ago when she posed nude for Playboy, or depending on your point of view, it was way worse that she also wrote a song for the Eagles. (Yuck.)
Momma Rogue:
Mother and daughter McCain are also open supporters of gay marriage, another stance that makes them mavericks in their own party. Cindy recently joined daughter Meghan in the ranks of gay marriage supporters that have posed for photographer Adam Bouska for the NOH8 campaign. This melting on the gay marriage front for Republicans could be purely strategic, however, making the lady McCains just part of a larger sea change within their own party.
Roguish? Kinda. Sassy? definitely.
