Ladies everywhere, rejoice: it’s officially legal to lust after Taylor Lautner. The New Moon star whose abs are more than a Situation turns 18 years old today! Man, it must be good to be Taylor. In addition to his endless line of female admirers, Taylor’s also got an impressive list of upcoming film projects. Deadline Hollywood reports that Hollywood is in a frenzy over a new script called Abduction, in which Taylor will play a teen who has long felt disconnected from his parents, and figures out why. Then it gets Bourne-ish.
He’s also going to play lead roles in two major studio superhero franchises — Universal’s Stretch Armstrong and Paramount’s Max Steel — and was paid $7.5 million for the John Moore-directed Skydance Top Gun-esque thrill ride Northern Lights. This is pretty big stuff for a smiley Michigan kid who’s only been a werewolf. What do you guys think? Is he the next huge star, or are we about to find out that it’s more hype than talent?
Maybe we’ll find out this weekend, when he graces the big screen in ensemble romcom Valentine’s Day. In the film, he romances Hollywood’s other ridiculously successful Taylor – Taylor Swift. Rumors have swirled over a real-life romance, but they claim they’re just friends. His publicists probably know how much we love the idea that he’s single.
