Buy Oprah’s Clothes and Support Her School in South Africa

oprah-shoes-1Celebs are always auctioning off their clothes for charity (like the Golden Globes one for Haiti), but they are usually so teeny that few people would ever be able to wear the outfits. Here’s an auction us curvier girls might actually be able to partake in: according to The New York Post, Oprah is teaming up with O Magazine Creative Director Adam Glassman to clean out her cluttered walk-in closet. She’s placing 150 items for sale on eBay starting March 1.

The goods include a Bottega Veneta bag (which Glassman says was a great piece but “too small” for Oprah’s frame), red suede peep-toe Prada heels (size 9) and a chic quilted Chanel evening bag. She’ll also be selling a size-14 purple Carolina Herrera dress, satin Jimmy Choo pumps (also size 9) and pointy-toe Prada boots that she wore once but “killed” her feet. Oprah’s weight has fluctuated over the years, but I think her style has always stayed classy and gorgeous. If I had the money (and slightly smaller feet) I would totally bid!

All proceeds from the sale will go to support the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for girls in South Africa. Opened in 2007, the Academy provides a rigorous and supportive educational environment for academically talented girls who come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

  1. Im not buying anything to support a school in south africa. HELL NO! Any body who buys this stuff should be ashamed of themselves for putting Africas Kids before Americas kids here in America. If you want to support Africas kids, then move there and do it personally.

    Oprah,

I have a dream of supporting young girls in our rural areas through education. We have started a high school for girls in Kisumu Kenya, we need help. Can you support us to keep these girls in school?
