Joe the Plumber Turns on McCain

joe-the-plumber-1Senator John McCain can find someone else to fix his toilet – and represent his party. According to CBS News, famed everyman “Joe the Plumber” (whose real name is Sam Wurzelbacher) has criticized McCain for “trying to use” him.

Wurzelbacher told Pennsylvania political reporter Scott Detrow in a weekend interview that he no longer supports McCain — or Sarah Palin, because she supports McCain, according to Detrow’s blog. “Joe” has become a firm supporter of the conservative “tea party” movement — a grassroots uprising of Americans fed up with the mainstream GOP.

“McCain was trying to use me,” Wurzelbacher said. “I happened to be the face of middle Americans. It was a ploy.”  And he doesn’t feel bad about trashing the man who made him famous:  ”I don’t owe him s—. He really screwed my life up, is how I look at it,” he said.

Despite being a staunch Republican, ”Joe the Plumber” actually offered some very limited praise of President Obama. “I think his ideology is un-American,” Detrow quoted him as saying, “but he’s one of the more honest politicians. At least he told us what he wanted to do.”

What did “Joe” expect? McCain is a politician. I’m also not sure how he screwed his life up…
