I am a shoe fanatic. I know, surprise, surprise, a female that likes to buys shoes–I’m not sure what it is that we have in us that make us drawn to them like a moth to the light. So, when a friend of mine told me about shoedazzle–shoe-wha?–I knew I had to try it. Still though, a subscription shoe mail order service? Sounds a bit hokey, right? Wrong.
The introduction to the site is very enticing to any woman that adores shoes. You see Kim Kardashian sitting with boxes opened and colorful beautiful shoes pouring out. So what is it exactly?
It is very easy:
• Take their Fashion Survey:
It only takes a few minutes for them to get to know your style.
• Their stylists pick five shoes for you:
Based on your survey results, their fashion experts provide you with a choice of five fashionable shoes each month. Take a look at the experts and see why they qualify to tell you what to wear on your pretty feet.
• Choose the pair you want:
They provide free shipping. If you are unsatisfied with your shoes, simply return them using the pre-printed return shipping label provided with your order.
The survey is kind of fun. It starts off with pictures of runway models in sets of three and you choose which style you like the most. After four of those, it goes on to pictures of shoes and which you like the most. It gives you an array of flats, heels and booties of all colors. Then it shows you brand names, this is where I got a bit stuck. What if I like them all?! Haha. Next came the list of celebs from Beyonce to Gwen, and you’re asked to pick whose style you most admire. The last steps are just a quick couple of questions about your shoe size and favorite color to tie up the deets. And then: Ta-da! That’s the end of the registration. The style experts take your survey and email you a list of five shoes to choose from a few days later–my email came the next day.
Now the interesting part, how hit or miss are they?
The selection came with two pairs of boots (which how cool is that for the same low low price?!) two heels and one kittie heel. I’d say with such a variety it would be hard not to find a hit every month.
The first pair of boots are called Adina’s, they are high heels and black leather (imitation) with a peep toe. Definitely something trendy and in the mags. More for a night on the town. Next is a pair of Sedonas, pointy gold almost-flats with a cute kitten heel and gold-studded embellishments. I have to say, this is the only pair I cannot see myself wearing. I’d much rather just like a pair of flats.
Giselle was my third selection. These shoes are sexy. They are 3.5 inch heels in black and pewter with distinctive beading in the front. These are definitely not everyday heels, but they will spice up any outfit and will make you feel like a woman waiting to get noticed.
The fourth selection is Kimball, a chestnut color, or so they say, harness boot. I like these the most so far, except the color is a bit orangey and I wonder how much use I can get out of a flat boot with such a distinct color–although it may be perfect for the transition from Winter to Spring?
The last of the picks is from Gabby. These are a more conservative peep-toe heel in an olive-green color with a dark-brown sole. These three inch heels are something that I would wear to work, if I worked in a business environment, which I don’t. And, unfortunately, I don’t think they’re too fun or interesting for my normal day to day.
All in all, three out of five ain’t bad. In case you’re not satisfied by any of their selections, you have the choice to ask for more picks or skip the month–you cannot go wrong with that! All the brands say imported and most are made from synthetic materials, although some are blends (upper leather, mixed w/synthetics). This would normally bother me the most because I’d be worried about the quality, but as I am a vegetarian and try to stray from the leather shows, I think I may just be satisfied if they are made well.
Stay tuned to find out what happens when the ones I pick actually arrive!

They don’t carry my size, my feet are too tiny! And no bigger than a size 10.
