You Can Catch Cavities From Kissing

262263_2143I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but here’s something to think about the next time you’re getting ready to pucker up. A new study has found that kissing can help contribute to the development of cavities.

There’s plenty of humor out there about swapping spit and sharing gum wads, so it’s really no surprise that what’s in your partner’s mouth could end up in your mouth. But did you ever consider cavities among the list of tradeables? Cavities are caused by bacteria, so someone who has a lot of cavities in their mouth will have a lot of cavity-causing bacteria swimming around in their saliva. Kiss them and you’ve now got that bacteria swimming around in your mouth, ready to settle in and find a home. Plus bacteria that cause gum disease can also come traipsing on over during a kiss, along with any number of other unwanted germs. And although you can probably avoid developing cavities and gingivitis (no matter how unhealthy your man’s mouth is) by simply brushing your own teeth and flossing regularly yourself, who wants to risk it? It brings a whole new meaning to the idea of safe sex and STDs. From now on a guy will have to have more than just good looks and good breath to tempt me into a smooch, I’ll be asking for dental records as well.

  1. I guess that to get the credit loans from creditors you ought to have a firm reason. But, once I’ve received a secured loan, just because I wanted to buy a car.
