I would never compare Twilight to Harry Potter (insert mean Twilight jab here), but in this case it makes sense: As the books grow longer and more complicated, one movie isn’t really enough. According to MTV News, Twilight star Kristen Stewart agrees.
“I am down. I wanna do it,” Kristen said of the increasingly real possibility that Stephenie Meyer’s final novel will be split into two films (like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). ”I understand why they’d wanna do it.”
While Robert Pattinson is looking to shed his vampire persona (and show off his stellar American accent) in the upcoming Remember Me, Kristen doesn’t have her post-Twilight plans solidified. “I actually have no idea [what I'll shoot next],” she said of her 2010 plans. ” Breaking Dawn is supposed to happen in maybe November, I think. But until then, I have a clean slate, and that’s rare for me, so that’s actually cool. It feels good, like I have no idea what I could do.”
Kristen seems eager to take a few months off as she promotes films like March’s rocker-girl movie The Runaways. She also said she’s ready to tackle one Breaking Dawn film — or stick around longer for two. “I don’t know yet [whether they're going to split it],” Kristen revealed. “They don’t know yet.” She also said, ”The story absolutely warrants two films. But I think you could do it with one. It just depends.”
