Lady Gaga in Cosmo: “I Ate Sh** For So Long”

cosmo-1Lady Gaga will always have a special place in our hearts as the inspirational diva and total weirdo who somehow makes us feel better about ourselves and our bad romances. However, it wasn’t always easy for the style icon. According to The Huffington Post, Gaga talks about her long road to success in the new April issue of Cosmo, which hits newsstands March 9.

“I had a boyfriend who told me I’d never succeed, never be nominated for a Grammy, never have a hit song, and that he hoped I’d fail,” Gaga said. (Now I see the inspiration for “Bad Romance!” What a douche.) “I said to him, ‘Someday, when we’re not together, you won’t be able to order a cup of coffee at the f***ing deli without hearing or seeing me.’” I bet he’s kicking himself now. I wonder what it’s like to see your ex everywhere — and mostly naked at that. The Cosmo cover is no exception, with Gaga wearing a champagne-colored bra and some big, weird granny panties.

Gaga also told the mag about her career struggles. “I ate sh** for so long, being told I didn’t fit the mold and that I was ‘too pop’ or ‘too theater’…I’ve always been delusionally ambitious to the point where people don’t understand me.” I’m still not sure if we understand her, we just know we like it!

And the big news: Gaga’s a vampire…kind of. “My friends joke that I’m dead until I get onstage,” she said. “I’m dead right now as you’re speaking to me.”
