“Zoolander” Sequel in the Works!
That Hansel is so hot right now. According to Deadline Hollywood, a sequel to the hilarious 2001 classic Zoolander is in the pipeline! This is basically the best news ever, since Zoolander is one of my favorite comedies and definitely my favorite male-model conspiracy movie.
Paramount and Ben Stiller are conspiring on a PG-13 Zoolander 2 with Tropic Thunder and Iron Man 2 writer Justin Theroux, who’ll also direct. Ben and Justin are working on the script together, and Theroux is going to Fashion Week in Paris to “immerse himself on what is current in fashion.” (Since the movie’s obviously going to be a serious commentary on modern fashion.)
“It’s got momentum,” a studio source said. Everyone’s hoping Owen Wilson will reprise his role, but no deal is set. The villain likely will be Jonah Hill, who’s in negotiations. I definitely like the sound of that, though I’ll miss Will Ferrell if he doesn’t come back!
