Police launched an exhaustive search for the actor-filmmaker on Sunday, when he was reported missing after failing to board his flight back to the U.S. Koenig had a history of depression, and worried friends and family members when he sold some of his possessions before taking off for Canada.
“The Koenig family thanks you for your kind thoughts at this difficult time,” a representative for the family said in an email. ”It means a lot to them and they are very appreciative of the support they are receiving. Each of these emails will be printed and bound in a remembrance book.”

From Danny Masterson: “Terrible about Andrew Koenig. Did a film with him in ’95 called Family Values. He was a great dude. Very smart.very cool. very funny.”
No funeral plans have been announced at this time. Though Koenig’s death has been reported as an apparent suicide, Vancouver police said they would not be commenting on the cause of death until the coroner’s service had completed its investigation.
