On last night’s American Idol, four contestants got the ax. “You have to have a killer, killer instinct now,” Simon said. (He should know!) According to The Huffington Post, John Park, Jermaine Sellers, Michelle Delamor and Haeley Vaughn were all sent packing.
The show began with a lip-synced, group-version of “I Got a Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas. I wonder what anti-lip-syncing Ke$ha would have to say about that, since she just went on record blasting Britney Spears for mouthing words at her concerts. Isn’t lip-syncing going against everything American Idol stands for? Isn’t it about talent? It’s a singing competition, not a lip-syncing competition, right? Maybe it would help if the Idol contestants weren’t so bad at it.
Jermaine commented that his elimination had something to do with being a Gospel singer. What do you guys think? Is American Idol anti-Gospel singers, or is Jermaine just a bad Gospel singer? There’s a difference.
Danny Gokey also sang his new pop-country single “My Best Days are Ahead of Me.” Check out the video:
Eh. I’m underwhelmed by Danny, even though he was a third-place finalist on Season 8. His voice is a little nasaly and breathy for my taste. He’s no Gary LeVox from Rascal Flatts, that’s for sure.

Amanda Pendolino’s writing was so very negative and I found her article rather boring and much too opinionated. It would be nice to have some balance as opposed to all this bashing. She sees everything half empty, rather than half full.
