Brooke Burke Is New “Dancing with the Stars” Cohost

Tom Bergeron is getting a new pal. According to CNN/People, Brooke Burke is set to co-host Dancing with the Stars with him. It was announced today on Good Morning America.

Brooke, who won the seventh season of Dancing with Derek Hough, will replace Samantha Harris, who announced in January that she was leaving the show.

“She’ll be able to talk to the couples backstage with the perspective of having been there herself,” said Tom, who made the announcement by himself. (Brooke was still on vacation in Africa with her family.) Brooke has plenty of hosting experience: the 38-year-old also rocked the mic on Wild On, Rock Star: INXS and Rock Star: Supernova (who knew there were so many Rock Star shows?!).

Brooke’s name has been in the mix for a while. “The news about me hosting DWTS is true,” she tweeted a few weeks ago. “I am screen testing next week for the job, fingers crossed! It would be amazing 2 be back!”

The lineup for Dancing with the Stars‘ tenth season was just announced, and it includes plenty of ABC cross-promoters (Aiden Turner, Jake Pavelka), Olympic athletes (Evan Lysacek), reality “stars” (Kate Gosselin) and complete head-scratchers (Buzz Aldrin). The show premieres March 22 on ABC.
