Conan O’Brien Embarks on “Half-Assed” Comedy Tour

By Amanda Pendolino on March 11th, 2010

Team CoCo, rejoice! Our favorite ginger is back — just not on TV. According to The Los Angeles Times, Conan O’Brien will headline a live comedy and musical review in 30 cities across the U.S. and Canada this year beginning April 12.

The “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television Tour” will kick off in Eugene, Oregon, and will feature Conan and his sidekick, Andy Richter. As part of Conan’s payout from getting booted from The Tonight Show, Conan’s not allowed to have a TV show until September at the soonest. (Most speculate that he’ll then head to Fox.)

“It was either a massive 30-city tour or start helping out around the house,” Conan said in a press release. Conan also Tweeted about the tour: “Hey, Internet: I’m headed to your town for a half-assed comedy & music tour.” On April 24, he’ll even appear at Universal Studios, where all the Jay vs. CoCo drama went down last year.

The Team Coco website was overloaded with hits, but you can now see the full list of cities and buy your tickets at Ticketmaster. “We are now adding a second show in both NYC & Chicago,” Conan Tweeted. “For that second show, I’ll be doing all Liza Minnelli songs.”
